As a Research Associate, you will join a team of senior engineers, scientists, and computer scientists focused on developing and expanding our tissue processing and imaging product pipeline and providing high quality 3D image data to customers via in-house operation of our flagship systems: SmartBatch+ and SmartSPIM. Key responsibilities will include benchwork and execution of state-of-the-art tissue processing systems, imaging, and artificial intelligence algorithms to quantify tissue image data and providing comprehensive on-site installations, remote training & technical support for our end users to further the research efforts of world-class scientists in bioengineering, neuroscience, therapeutic discovery and related fields across the globe. Travel may occasionally be required when necessary.

There will be ample opportunities to be promoted to a senior role based on your performance. You will also be working with world-class researchers in both academia and industry on Bioengineering, Drug Discovery, Oncology and Neuroscience projects across the nation and beyond.

Job Summary: 

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Systems Software Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have experience in LabVIEW, laboratory equipment (such as microscopes), and fundamental data engineering skills, with a passion for building efficient, scalable software solutions for research and industrial applications. You will play a key role in developing and optimizing software systems for advanced scientific equipment to support data acquisition and analysis. You will also closely work with the data engineering team to seamlessly integrate data acquisition with existing data engineering pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize software using the LabVIEW framework to control and automate laboratory equipment, including microscopes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (scientists, engineers, data analysts) to develop custom systems for data acquisition, instrument control, and integration with internal data engineering pipeline
  • Troubleshoot and debug systems software and hardware interfaces to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Contribute to the documentation of system design, code, and processes, ensuring effective knowledge sharing and maintenance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, bioengineering, computational biology, electrical engineering, or a relevant field
  • Experience with LabVIEW and strong understanding of hardware/software interactions
  • Hands-on experience working with laboratory equipment, particularly microscopes, in a research or industrial setting
  • Foundational knowledge in data engineering (e.g., data acquisition, data processing)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to work in a team environment

Job Summary: 

We are seeking an ambitious Junior Software Engineer (Full-stack) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience with both front-end and back-end development and a passion for creating scalable software solutions for scientific and industrial applications. You will support developing and optimizing software systems for advanced scientific equipment used in tissue processing, image acquisition, and data analysis.

This position will begin as a  3 to 6-month contract, with a performance evaluation at the end to determine the potential for full-time employment. Alternatively, candidates may also apply for part-time positions on a contract basis. Additionally, there is an opportunity for high-performing employees to transfer to the US headquarters after one year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize internal dashboards to streamline operations.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data engineering pipelines (database management, ETL processes, large-scale image data analysis).
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop custom software for data acquisition and instrument control.
  • Document system designs, processes, and code for knowledge sharing and easier maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, bioengineering, computational biology, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of 3D data engineering and analysis.

This position also requires proactive engagement with diverse stakeholders, including customers, collaborators, and research groups and applying insights gained to product and application development. You will play a key role in translating these insights into actionable improvements, maximizing the impact of our technologies.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, mission-driven, and excited to work at the intersection of technology development and customer engagement. You will drive technological development, initiate collaborations, and manage projects to deliver meaningful outcomes while fostering long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technologies for three-dimensional molecular bioimaging 
  • Engage directly with customers, including PIs, postdocs, and graduate students, to recruit samples and explore collaborative opportunities
  • Proactively initiate outreach to expand the adoption of new technologies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop new applications based on feedback and insights from customers
  • Continuously expand technological applications with new offerings and insights gained from collaborations and successful projects
  • Manage multiple priorities independently to address bandwidth limitations within the team.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in engineering, life sciences, neurosciences, or a related field
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with PIs, postdocs, and graduate students
  • Experience with CRO services, sample recruitment, or customer support is a plus
  • Background in life sciences, neurosciences, medical devices, or scientific instruments (preferred)
